Sandra K. Swanger Obituary
Cumberland, MD - CUMBERLAND [mdash] Sandra K. Swanger, 76, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 27. Sandy was the daughter of the late Alfred and Katherine (Fatkin) Simpson.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tera Lynn Swanger; and sister, Barbara Pellegrino.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Vernon; her son, Derek Swanger; sisters, Shirley Bridges and Dawna Simpson; her beloved grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, and Noah Townsend; Dillynn and Jocelynn Swanger; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Rodney and Marsha Fleegle, Pamela (Bridges) Stevens, and Russell Bridges Jr; and her loving sisters-in-law, Linda Tabler, and her husband, David; and Rhonda (Ali) Swanger and her special friend, Larry.
Sandy's compassionate nature culminated in a fulfilling career in healthcare, at Memorial Hospital and WMHC. In Sandy's final act of kindness, she donated her organs and body to help others.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, which will be announced.
