Shelby Jean Uphold Obituary

Shelby "Jean" Uphold, 84, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born May 1, 1937, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Mary Kearney.

Shelby was a member and former Treasurer of Zion Community Church of Wellersburg, Pa. She was also a member of the Women's Guild Choir, September Singers and the Dixon Senior Dancers. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Wellersburg Fire Department. She participated on a ladies bowling league and the Senior Olympics. She enjoyed teaching children to read.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina Marie McKenzie and husband, Ronald Jr.; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Casteel and John Ringgold Bull; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Rouch and Luke Rouch; two sisters, Shirley Caton and Donna Lee Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Casteel, Henry Virgil Sirbaugh II; two brothers, Ron Porter and Jake Rouch; and one sister, Ida Simpson.

Services and interment will be private.
