Cumberland, MD - Shirley J. (Holtzman) Baldwin, 95, of Cumberland, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at her home in Cumberland.

Born Nov. 20, 1930, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Holtzman and Edith (Kerns) Margraff. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James C. Baldwin.

Mrs. Baldwin was a graduate of the 1949 class of Allegany High School.

Mrs. Baldwin retired from Bechtel Corporation in 1987, where she was an administrator.

She was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother. She was most happy when her family was happy. She became a sports fan out of necessity from her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, puzzle games, and the family pets.

Survivors include her son, Steve Baldwin; daughter, Perian Baldwin; grandchildren, Ashley Baldwin, Taylor (Baldwin) Shiner, Carlyn Baldwin; great-granddaughter, Landon Aluise Shiner; great-grandson, Beau Steven Shiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m., with Pastor Seth Wharton officiating.

The interment in Sunset Memorial Park will be private.
