Thelma Virginia Diehl Obituary

Martinsburg, PA - Thelma Virginia Diehl, 94, of Martinsburg, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on Feb. 23, 1931, in Artemas, Pa., a daughter of the late Marshall D. and Allie (Robison) Clingerman.

On July 14, 1950, in Cumberland, Md., she was united in marriage to Charles M. Diehl. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2014.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Steven Diehl and wife Tina; granddaughters, Erika May Diehl-Nakatani and Elissa Daine; and a sister, Wanda Lee Pierro.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Charles Clingerman, Arlene Brantner, John Clingerman and Ronald Clingerman.

She graduated from Everett High School and Catherman's Business School in Cumberland, Md. Throughout the years, she worked at various places, as she followed her husband's career as a civil engineer in the Western Maryland Railroad and later CSX Corporation. She worked mainly as an executive secretary, but filled many roles, at WBFD in Bedford, Allegheny County Board of Education, Celanese Trucking Corporation, Hagerstown Business College, Fairchild-Hiller Aircraft Corporation, WOWK Television (Huntington, W.Va.) and Sacred Heart Hospital. She taught medical terminology and transcription at Hagerstown Business College and was plant security officer at Fairchild in Hagerstown.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Joel Kletzing officiating.
