Vernon Dale Wampler
Vernon Dale Wampler, 80, of Eckhart, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He gave up an honorable fight with kidney cancer.
Born May 23, 1939, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late Floyd Lester and Rosella O. (Broadwater) Wampler. He was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd B. Wampler and Darrel J. Wampler.
He was a 1957 graduate of Beall High School, he was a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters 489 Cumberland. He proudly served in U.S. Army as a medic and was honorably discharged. He attended Assembly of God Church in Midlothian.
He is survived by his lovely wife Carolyn; two sons, Philip R. Herrick Jr. and Steven T. Herrick; grandson, Philip R. Herrick III, who was the love of his life.
At his request, there will not be a viewing or service.
The family appreciates all the prayers and support during Vernon's time of illness.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
