Cumberland, MD - CUMBERLAND [mdash] Victoria "Vickie" L. Hess, 75, of Cumberland, Md. passed away July 11, 2025 at home and surrounded by her family.

Born March 4, 1950 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ermalinda "Lena" McCullough. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Hess; her daughter, Karyn Davies; a sister, Carol Jean Clise; and a brother, Billy McCullough.

Vickie attended Fort Hill High School. She went on to a 40 year career as a surgical tech at Memorial Hospital and then Western Maryland Health System. She was a member of the Goodfellowship Club.

She dedicated her life to her family always putting the needs of others before her own. To her family she was lovingly known as "Ma" and was loved by all.

Surviving are her daughters, Denise Rice and husband Keith, Amy Phillips and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Tara Rice, Lauren Rice (Jennifer), Katie Mallow (Levi), Keith Rice Jr (Chloe), Madison Shatzer (Daniel), Macie Phillips (Derrick); great-grandchildren, Lexi Dolan, Weston and Emily Mallow, Keith III and Carson Rice; siblings, John McCullough (Vicki) and Sue Pryor (Keith); significant other, Dave Starkey; her extended family including many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends that were very dear to her.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no formal funeral services, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
