OAKLAND - Virginia Marie Simon, 68, of Oakland, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at Garrett Regional Hospital.

Born March 4, 1951, in Shaw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Acie Zewingle and Minnie Marie Somerville Simon.

Virginia was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. She was disabled and was a client of and resided at Appalachian Crossroads since she was 18 years old.

She is survived by her siblings, Catherine Hoye of Mt. Lake Park, Mary Friend of Swanton, Donna McCrobie of Kitzmiller and Dora Clark of Kitzmiller.

She was predeceased by siblings, Acie Simon Jr., Henry Simon, Oliver Simon, Charles Simon, and Sara Elbin.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Chapel, 931 State Street, Kitzmiller.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Matthew Paugh officiating.

Interment will follow in Nethken Hill Cemetery, Elk Garden, W.Va.
