Willard Junior Riggleman Obituary

Keyser, WV - Willard Junior Riggleman — known to many as Will or Sonny — of Keyser, W.Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 2, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved most. He was a proud father and grandfather.

Born on May 7, 1953, in Petersburg, W.Va., Will was the son of the late Willard M. Riggleman and Mae E. Lyons. He graduated from Keyser High School in 1971 and went on to spend more than 25 years working for PCM of Alta Vista, Va. Will believed in hard work and providing for his family — values he lived by every day.

For more than 40 years, Will found joy and freedom racing dirt drag motorcycles. It wasn't just a hobby — it was a lifelong passion that reflected his determination, grit and love for doing things his own way. Many of his best memories and friendships were made on the track.

Above all else, Will cherished his family. He is deeply missed by his children, Brett Riggleman and wife Amanda, Brian Riggleman and wife Jamie, Sunni Wolfe and husband Shawn, and Destiny Riggleman, all of Keyser, W.Va. He was a proud grandfather to Chelsea Lucas and husband Shelton, Meghan Riggleman, Mackenzie Fey and husband Tyler, and Reilly Wolfe, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

Will shared 52 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Riggleman. Their life together was built on love and family. She remained by his side until the very end.

Will is also survived by his brother, Steven C. Riggleman and wife Leica of New Creek, W.Va.; half-brother, Maurice A. Riggleman of Terra Alta, W.Va.; sisters, Linda K. Foster of Keyser, W.Va., and Karen S. Shreve and husband Harlan, and Dinese L. Shreve, all of New Creek, W.Va.; his uncle, Norris Riggleman and wife Mary Ann of New Creek, W.Va.; stepbrother, Albert Dettinburn and wife Patsy of New Creek, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Will was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Lee Riggleman, Mark A. Lyons and Walter R. Riggleman; along with his mother-in-law, Bessie Smith, who was like a mother to him.

A celebration of Will's life will be held at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Mineral County Aging & Family Services, 875 S. Mineral St., Keyser, WV 26726.

The Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Keyser, is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, learned from him daily, and will forever feel his presence in their lives.
