William J. "Billy Joe" Wills Obituary

RIDGELEY, W.Va. - William J. "Billy Joe" Wills, 61, of Ridgeley, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at his residence. Born Sept. 15, 1949, in Hinton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Letha P. (Whitaker) Wills and Willie Howard Wills. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Grover L. Broughman Sr. Mr. Wills was a graduate of Clifton Forge High School, a U.S. Army Reservist and machinist for CSX Transportation for 40 years. He was a member of Graceland Baptist Church. He was a Dale Earnhardt and a NASCAR fan. His grandchildren were the light of his life, each one held a special place in his heart. Surviving are his wife, Nelda (Broughman) Wills; two daughters, Lorrie Wolff and husband Scott, Cumberland and Shellie Ujcic and husband Steven, Short Gap, W.Va.; two sisters, Janice Wills and husband Mike, Clifton Forge and Carol Armstrong and husband Arnold, Iron Gate, Va.; four grandchildren, Clinton Wolff and Rebekah Wolff, both of Cumberland, Jamie Ujcic and Jenna Ujcic, both of Short Gap; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Thomas Gibson, Covington, Va.; sister-in-law, Bethany Broughman; three brothers-in-law, Grover Broughman, Sammy Broughman, Billy Gibson and wife Teresa, all of Covington; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Friends will be received at the Graceland Baptist Church, Short Gap, on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends will be received at the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Va. on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Va. on Saturday with the Rev. Oscar E. Ohler officiating. Interment will be in Alleghany Memorial Park, Covington, Va. Those desiring to honor William's memory may make a contribution to the Graceland Baptist Youth Fund. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. (www.scarpellifuneralhomes.com) is handling the local arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mavromatis and staff and the staff of the Schwab Family Cancer Center at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
